We are in Argentina to speak at TMDG ’08. The event is seven years old. Lots of great people have been speaking about design and everything else through all these years and it’s a pleasure to be part of such a cool conference. TMDG occurs this week up to Sunday, October 5th in Mar del Plata. We will be in Buenos Aires for the week after, having some fun, working on a few projects and visiting some good ol’ friends. Dale!

Pixelshow ’08

Last weekend, we visited São Paulo for the Pixelshow 2008 conference. It took place in Latin America Memorial and it was great. Sunday morning, we spoke a little about what we’ve been through in the last 2 years and the creative process behind some featured projects. We met a lot of cool people and ate delicious food. Thank you São Paulo. We already miss that city.

It may looks like decades ago, but the reality is that the studio is turning 2 years old. It has been challenging and extremely fun, and we believe these feelings must be shared. So we worked on our new looks and decided to finally update our website. Today we were speakers at the 13th EWD in Brasilia. We shared some of our creative process with the public and participated in the round-table talk at the end. There were also some great presentations by Ronaldo Gazel and Raphael Vasconcellos.

One of the most popular science magazines in Brazil invited us to create an infographic to fill up the article «How does the breathalyzer works?» which features the polemic brazilian Driver’s Dry Law. Illustration based on the device’s detailed function.

Artwork created for this colorful Argentinian magazine in its 5th edition. The illustration was based on the magazine’s main subject, «Protest!». We took several characters to be part of an unusual and funny riot. Check their site.

Vitor Schietti

Today we woke up early in the morning for a photo shoot session with Vitor Schietti. It was produced by Anderson Felix and we had a big help from Anabelle Mota and Vitor’s cute dog Gaia. We’ve got a little dirty but everybody had lots of fun.

Guilherme Aguiar and his crew from WebDF are the guys behind the production of Mopa’s new website. They’ve built the entire thing using WordPress, so we could update and manage all the system by ourselves.

Melhoramentos

Graphic design, chapters and cover illustration for «A Garota quase Perfeita» (The Nearly Perfect Girl in portuguese), for Melhoramentos Publishing. We created a cover where the girl and her fairy fill her bedroom. The grid and typography were specially picked for a children’s book. The chapters’ illustrations show some of the important situations experienced by the girl.
