Graphic design, chapters and cover illustration for «A Garota quase Perfeita» (The Nearly Perfect Girl in portuguese), for Melhoramentos Publishing. We created a cover where the girl and her fairy fill her bedroom. The grid and typography were specially picked for a children’s book. The chapters’ illustrations show some of the important situations experienced by the girl.

Monoblock

Vik and Pablo from Monoblock invited us to design a cover for their forthcoming notebook series. We are really proud to be part of such a good project. Mopa designed character by character, each one of the words in the client’s slogan, «Live the Love. Happy Together». We also worked on a happy and lovely environment for the whole notebook cover. Not the Chilli Peppers, but a great party. Mopa designed the flyer to promote one of the best Brazilian fever summer parties. New Rave and Electro Rock all night long. Oh, and milk for the children.

Mopa was asked to design a cover for a juvenile book inspired by «A Midsummer Night’s Dream» by Shakespeare. Artwork done for «Cenas de uma Noite de Verão» (A Midsummer Nights’s Scenes in portuguese) by Gerlis Zillgens, where youngsters fall in love while rehearsing the original play.

Kitsune Noir

Bobby Solomon invited us to be part of his Desktop Wallpaper Project. He owns Kitsune Noir, a blog for design and every-single-thing related to it. The project features a bunch of great people and we felt very honored to be part of it. We designed a wallpaper to make you smile while working and remember you are at work, so ambiguous… What surprise to know he keeps iPhone and PSP wallpaper formats, as well as the basic row of monitor options. Staying Alive

Artwork designed for Staying Alive Foundation’s website. Staying Alive is a world wide HIV mass media awareness and prevention campaign. Project was based on the campaign’s aim which is to reduce HIV infections among young people globally and to voice solidarity among the ills. The International Illustrated

We got invited by the kindest guys in The International Illustrated to design a piece for their 3rd issue. The theme was «Other names for the devil». A woodcut block was created to illustrate Bartolomeu Bueno da Silva, a famous Brazilian Bandeirante (explorer), known by the tupy-guarany native mythology as Anhangüera (the Old Devil) while demanding gold from the natives and threatening them with bonfire. It’s totally related to Brazilian culture and a different approach of the theme. Check the project here.

Caixa Econômica

We were asked by Agência Click to design some concepts for a promo website developed for Caixa Econômica. We had to provide an abstract landscape to fill the website while users were experiencing a walk around the «Dream House». It featured the holophony techinque (more about it here) to create an audio environment, so users could hear what a «Dream House» would sound like with closed eyes. When users opened their eyes, they would stare at the abstract field, so they wouldn’t think about anything else besides their imagined house. Dream it in portuguese here!

República Capricho

Alceu Nunes, Capricho Magazine art director at that time, invited Mopa to design some pages for the magazine’s social networking website, «República Capricho». We co-worked with the great guys over Mamoulian in this project. Brazilian girls now have their own place to talk about teenage issues from health to fashion, family to school. The website represents a sorority which welcomes all girls to live in. The house areas represent sections to talk about specific issues (i.e. the bathroom is the place to talk about hygiene and health etc.). Besides graphic design, we did illustration for some of those rooms. The logo is a key which provides access to the sorority. Feel free to pass by, even if you aren’t a girl, here.

Orouni

He has a great voice and plays his folk songs all around Paris. Orouni asked us to promote one of his gigs full of friends and great music. We designed a flyer inspired by an important song from each of the bands featured that night, Kawaii and Lewitt. Listen to Orouni here.
