Artwork created for this colorful Argentinian magazine in its 5th edition. The illustration was based on the magazine’s main subject, «Protest!». We took several characters to be part of an unusual and funny riot. Check their site.

Vinyl Toy designed for a Brazilian mall Valentine’s Day campaign. We took inspiration from our home city and boy scouts. In Brazil, the youngest boy scouts are called «Lobinho» (Little Wolf). We called our buddy Binho. The character is based on the Guara wolf, a wild animal related to the city folklore.

Monoblock

Vik and Pablo from Monoblock invited us to design a cover for their forthcoming notebook series. We are really proud to be part of such a good project. Mopa designed character by character, each one of the words in the client’s slogan, «Live the Love. Happy Together». We also worked on a happy and lovely environment for the whole notebook cover. Kitsune Noir

Bobby Solomon invited us to be part of his Desktop Wallpaper Project. He owns Kitsune Noir, a blog for design and every-single-thing related to it. The project features a bunch of great people and we felt very honored to be part of it. We designed a wallpaper to make you smile while working and remember you are at work, so ambiguous… What surprise to know he keeps iPhone and PSP wallpaper formats, as well as the basic row of monitor options. The magazine focuses on practical exercises for creative professionals. Artwork developed for the featured article «Designed to a tee». Some shirts were doodled in textile ink. After that, Felipe Bittar, photographer, took some apparel pictures and different concepts were applied in vector based softwares after that proccess.

The International Illustrated

We got invited by the kindest guys in The International Illustrated to design a piece for their 3rd issue. The theme was «Other names for the devil». A woodcut block was created to illustrate Bartolomeu Bueno da Silva, a famous Brazilian Bandeirante (explorer), known by the tupy-guarany native mythology as Anhangüera (the Old Devil) while demanding gold from the natives and threatening them with bonfire. It’s totally related to Brazilian culture and a different approach of the theme. Check the project here.

Mopa was invited to create the cover artwork for the edition # 139. The project was based on the featured article: «Stay Fresh». We had to use together 10 design clichés in the cover image. Besides the newstand cover, we created a subscriber’s edition jacket in the same style. After the english release, Computer Arts Brasil asked us to translate the headlines for their #2 edition.

Font inspired by Brazilian truck iconography, specially by the paintings of Samuel, from Paraíba. We had access to his work through the research of Christus Nóbrega. Besides the characters, the font includes ornaments.

Revista Colectiva
